Well...back at work again. Dang.
Turns out that while I did not precisely screw up the code I sent Jake, he has asked me to prepare a more extensive verbal explanation of what I did...which, reading between the lines, I think means that my code was so weird and opaque as to be completely indecipherable.
Ah well.
So I'm cranking through that now, hopefully I can have that done before Monday, when classes start again. I have to say...writing descriptions of stuff that's basically just piles and piles of math is not particularly fun. I mean, obviously I have to say something more profound then, So here I set the limits of integration to be 0 and infinity, and integrated over blah and blah..., but... Well maybe my understanding of the quantitative genetics is a bit lacking...which would make sense, since I've never had a course in quantitative genetics.
So, NWN2 sucks so far. I'm gonna shelve it until it's patched a few more times, and then probably give it one more shot.
And btw...I got an interview at UC San Francisco!! Hell YES! I'm super excited about this. UCSF probably isn't my top choice for grad school, but it's a good school in a good location, so I'd be 100% satisfied if I got accepted there. I've got my interview either February 9-10 or February 15-16, and they're paying for my flight out there, booking me in a hotel, etc. I'm really looking forward to it. I understand that getting the interview is like three fourths of the battle, too...so I have high hopes for getting in! Keeping my fingers crossed for this, and hopefully some more interview opportunities will present themselves soon...
Oh and this was pretty awesome...over New Years I went to see the peach drop in downtown Atlanta, and I met this incredibly pretty girl. She had this really great hot-without-trying-to-be thing going on...think like the hottest girl on your high school soccer team or something. Which is awesome. She was one of those girls where it's like...naw, she would never be into me, she's too fine. But she was! (And get this...she plays Starcraft! How wild is that?) So I've asked her on a date, even though she lives basically halfway across the state. Keeping my fingers crossed for that, too!
