Sitting in

So I'm just taking the 1 class I need to graduate this semester (Quantum II), and sit in on the other two (Math Biology, Bioinformatics) that I've been signed up for. Actually got permission for this, believe it or not!

So this is good, on several fronts -- 1) I don't have to pay for these classes, and I'm mostly broke (and maybe my parents would pay for them, but they can't really afford it either, to be honest), 2) I get to learn the material in the classes, which I was definitely wanting to do, and 3) I don't have to stress over them, because I'm just trying to learn for my own benefit, and I can just use their exams as a way to genuinely measure how I'm doing. Crazy thought, that.

Still haven't heard back from any other graduate schools besides UCSF. I actually looked in the US News grad school rankings the other day when I was at Borders, and noticed that for the field I applied for (biophysics), UCSF is actually ranked #5 in the country, behind Stanford, Harvard, MIT, and Berkeley. So, of the schools of which I would say I have a realistic chance of getting in to, I guess UCSF would be my top choice.

More pressure for the interview! Whee.

In other news, Colin interviewed me last night with his fancy new camera...and I discovered that I look like an utter douche. I guess I like...need a haircut, or a shave, or something. Or possibly a new face.

Time for this meeting at work. Joy.
