... while highlighting the data for this project. No, I'm not kidding. I put Ironman 2 on one screen and Excel on the other. I held down the mouse button for 94/112.5 minutes, only to find that 94 minutes of data (even though it was just one vector! I didn't even do the other columns) was too much for the computer to "copy."
I mean, there is nothing like a little good ol' fashioned copy paste to make you wish you could just press the little "select all button" without killing your computer.
I'm sure you've tried this, but the PC has Excel on it -- maybe it could handle the very large data sets you have better than the Mac? Also, does R have packages for parsing data sets?
ReplyDeleteAnother random thought: my PC also has Excel on it (courtesy of Sparky), so if you just need a big spreadsheet chopped up, I can do that for you.
ReplyDelete:) ... R died when I tried to do it, but I came up with an idea-- I was able to get it into six spreadsheets with the copy paste... then I made custom filters in the Excel so that I can get years and plots separated! Now the challenge is just deciding which way I want to approach the math!
